Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) stands as one of British Columbia’s largest educational institutions, boasting an enrollment of 20,000 students and employing 1,400 faculty members across five campuses.
KPU provides a diverse range of educational offerings, spanning from undergraduate programs to vocational training. These include bachelor’s and associate degrees, diplomas, certificates, apprenticeships, and citations.
The university’s curriculum encompasses over 120 distinct programs, including degree courses, diplomas, certificates, and citations, as well as foundation courses and on-site apprenticeship training. KPU prides itself on offering several unique programs unavailable elsewhere. Notable examples include British Columbia’s sole brewing diploma and exclusive fashion, technology, and product design courses in Western Canada. Additionally, KPU offers North America’s only undergraduate degree focused specifically on urban ecosystems through its bachelor of horticulture science program.
KPU maintains small class sizes, with a cap of 35 students per class and many classes having even fewer students.
The university accommodates various schedules, allowing for both full-time and part-time study options. Classes are available in the morning, afternoon, or evening, with some courses offered online for added convenience.
In athletics, KPU fields six varsity teams across four sports: men’s and women’s football (soccer), men’s and women’s basketball, badminton, and golf. These teams compete under the name “Kwantlen Eagles.”
